Q: CAN I KEEP MY PHOTOS?
A: Yes, absolutely. You will receive your images via a high resolution online gallery containing all of the photographs shot on your wedding day/session and you will be granted full usage rights. This means you may do with them as you please at no additional cost. You can print them, post them to the photo-sharing websites (Facebook, Twitter, etc) and email them to family and friends. Photoajoy Photography retains the copyright on all photographs.
Q: ARE THE PICTURES I RECEIVE PROOFS?
A: No. The photographs are fully edited, finished photographs, NOT unedited raw proofs directly off my camera. This is an important difference! I review and edit every photograph making minor adjustments as needed. Each image (excluding duplicates, improperly exposed images, test shots, etc) is post-processed, color-corrected and polished using the latest professional software on the market. You can expect to receive color and black & white variations of your wedding day via a high resolution gallery.
Q: WHEN DO I GET MY PHOTOS BACK?
A: You will receive your images via a high resolution digital gallery 6-8 weeks after your wedding day. (Please allow for additional time if additional photographers or coverage time is added. Also, during the months of May/June and September/October which are usually booked fully).
Q: IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED TO RESERVE MY WEDDING DATE?
A: Yes. A retainer of 30% of the entire package total is required to hold your wedding date. The retainer amount applies toward your final contracted fee. The retainer amount is non-refundable. I can accept payment in cash, check, credit card or PayPal.
Q: WHEN IS MY FINAL PAYMENT DUE?
A: Your final payment is a day prior to your wedding day. Many people choose to make multiple smaller payments in the months leading up to their wedding day. Payment plans are very popular here at Photoajoy Photography because it allows you to pay off your wedding little by little as opposed to paying a huge lump sum at the same time all other vendor payments are due. I can accept payment in cash, check, credit card or PayPal.
Q: HOW FAR IN ADVANCE ARE YOU BOOKED?
A: I am usually booked 6-12 months in advance. The months of April, May, June, August, September and October book very quickly. Weekends are reserved for weddings and Engagement/Portrait sessions are booked around weddings, Sundays, or during the work-week.
Q: IS YOUR WEDDING PACKAGE FLEXIBLE?
A: Yes. My goal is to help you find a wedding package that fits your needs and budget. I have 3 different collections as well as ala carte options. Please contact me if you have questions about our wedding photography packages/services or don't see exactly what you're looking for.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
A: I shoot primarily photojournalism and lifestyle photography--candid, mixed with some perfectly planned poses of course, all while moments capturing the flow of events and details of your wedding day. I also shoot in a more traditional style of wedding photography for group and portrait photos, but allow time for the more fun and active group shots. Most couples want a combination of both styles. And that is perfect. It is very easy to go from one style of shooting to the next as long as time allows. I will guide and offer creative ideas and suggestions as we plan your wedding photography and throughout your wedding day, but never be obtrusive.
Q: HOW MANY PICTURES WILL I RECEIVE?
A: This question is always so tough to answer. Every wedding package includes unlimited photographs. This means that from the time I get there to the time I leave, my team and I are shooting. The only time we aren't shooting is during dinner service. Typically each photographer generates about 80-100 photographs per/hour of coverage. (Varies in accordance to hours of coverage, number of photographers, time allotted for portraits).
Q: DO YOU SHOOT BY YOURSELF, OR WITH SOMEONE ELSE? CAN WE ADD AN ADDITIONAL SHOOTER?
A: Every wedding collection comes with me as your photographer. Always! Some brides and grooms love to add on a second or a third shooter to guarantee multiple angle coverage and allow for there to be two photographers on the bride and groom at all times.
Q: WHAT DOES AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION INCLUDE? AND WHEN IS IT BEST TO SCHEDULE OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
A: Engagement portraits can be scheduled anytime in the months before your wedding. I usually recommend that they are shot 4-6 months prior to you wedding, The session lasts for an hour. Your session comes with an online high resolution gallery where you will be able to view, download and share all of your high resolution images.
Q: DO ALBUMS COME IN YOUR COLLECTIONS?
A: Yes. A signature 12x12 wedding album is included in the Deluxe collection I offer. The standard wedding collection, however, does not.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON A WEDDING DAY?
A: We will develop an alternative plan in case of rain when we meet prior to your wedding day to plan your wedding photography. It is always smart, especially if planning an outdoor wedding, to have a back up plan. Simply having a white umbrella, or colored umbrellas for your bridal party, JUST IN CASE, is an idea we can talk about in our consult together.
Q: OTHER THAN YOUR WEBSITE AND WEDDING MAGAZINE, WHERE CAN I SEE MORE OF YOUR PORTFOLIO?
A: I have a blog that I update nearly every week. . I am also an active member of Facebook. This is where 90% of my clients found me or were referred. Many additional samples can be sent directly to you in an online gallery format so you can see how a full wedding is shot and treated by Photoajoy Photography.
Q: WHEN IT COMES TIME FOR A CONSULT, WHEN AND WHERE IS BEST?
A: I LOVE to treat my prospective clients to a cup of coffee or tea and talk all things wedding. I encourage you both to come, bring moms, whatever you like. My goal is to answer any and all questions you may have in regards to wedding photography. I am available by appointment during the business day, evenings or weekends. Q: DO YOU TRAVEL TO WEDDINGS OUT OF STATE/COUNTRY?
A: Yes. I am available for travel worldwide. In fact, I LOVE IT!
Q: DO YOU HAVE A TRAVEL FEE?
A: There is no charge for travel within 100 miles of my office in Wildwood, MO. For weddings within 100 miles of my office, there is no travel charge. Otherwise, $100.00/hr of travel will be added onto your collection total. In regards to engagement sessions, travel is included for up to an hour from my office. Outside of an hour of travel, the $100.00/hr rate will start. I will work with you to determine the appropriate fee to cover my travel expenses in regards to destination
